Safari.com refundable terms launched

Safari.com has launched Refundable Terms, what does this product cover and who can benefit?

Safari.com has launched Refundable Terms, an exciting new product set to ease the burden of potential loss that can happen with the last-minute cancellation of travel plans.

The new product offering is an optional booking upgrade that provides a refund for certain circumstances in line with the set terms and conditions.

Refundable Terms allow customers to purchase, for an extra 5%, an upgrade that allows cancellation of their holiday booking up to one day before travel, for a host of reasons, and receive a 100% refund.

“Our Refundable Terms were created with the purpose of providing security for our guests surrounding their money. The past 20 months have brought about a new level of uncertainty and insecurity for travellers looking to book trips in advance.

With our new 100% refundable terms, the risk is taken out of booking that dream trip. We believe that booking a holiday shouldn’t be stressful. The goal is a stress-free holiday planning and booking process. It’s at the core of what we do” noted Nicholas Wright – Chief Executive Officer – Safari.com.

Some of the refundable circumstances include:

  • Specific illness and injury (including Covid-19)
  • Pre-existing medical condition
  • Pregnancy complications
  • Death of immediate family
  • Flight disruption
  • Public transport failure
  • Adverse weather
  • Theft of documents
  • Changes to examination dates, etc.

With the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic that has immensely affected the travel industry, travellers will be relieved to know that Safari.com is providing guests with the peace of mind they so desperately need right now.

“What separates our new refundable terms from many other similar products is the fact that the situations covered in our terms reflect the actual current concerns of our guests.

For example, if you or one of the travellers on the booking happens to contract Covid-19 and cannot travel as a result, your funds are covered and are refundable under the Refundable  Terms.

We’re constantly asking ourselves not just ‘what we need to do’ but ‘who our guests need us to be, today?’

These terms have been crafted to provide cover for travellers at large who are worried about various foreseen and unforseen circumstances, including Covid-19.  That means these terms provide real value to our guests.” emphasised Nicholas.

To opt-in for the Refundable Terms, customers will be able to add the option to their quote at checkout when booking their trip.

To apply for a refund, travellers can simply complete the refund application form as soon as they know they cannot fulfil the travel booking. Application for the refund can be made up to 60 days after the booking.

“Another great element of our Refundable Terms is that refund claims are responded to and processed within 48 hours which is in line with our customer-centric ethos of offering quality customer service. Cover, efficiency, security – that’s what we’ve gone for with these terms, and our guests are loving it.” added Nicholas.
