Five people were injured when a car and a truck collided at the N12 and R28 intersection in Westonaria on Saturday night

ER24 arrived at 20:57 to find both vehicles in the middle of the intersection. Two women and three men were seen walking around the road.

Medics assessed the patients and found that two had sustained serious injuries while the three others had sustained moderate injuries.

The patients were treated and the two seriously injured were provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to Carletonville Provincial Hospital for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
