N12 blocked by striking Sibanye-Stillwater workers

Motorists driving on the N12 between Carletonville and Johannesburg must rather try to use an alternative route today.

This is because a large group of the workers currently involved in the strike at Sibanye-Stillwater are blocking the main road next to the entrance to Libanon.

Representatives from the two unions involved in the strike, AMCU and NUM, have engaged in the unauthorized march because they will be handing over memorandums to the company’s management.

As far as could be determined there are about 200 striking workers on the N12, but the police are also present.

AMCU and NUM are involved in the action.
