SUV hijacked in broad daylight

Hijackers in Carletonville are getting bolder by the day.

The Carletonville police say a young man was in his mother’s VW Tiguan near the Carletonville Mall when an incident took place at approximately 10:51 on Saturday morning.
While he was driving on Grundling Street, four men wearing police masks stopped him.
“You are driving a stolen vehicle,” one of the hijackers alleged.
Before the driver could do anything, the men overpowered him and forced him into the back of the Tiguan. They drove with him on the Bank road towards Randfontein and stopped to let him go at the bridge after the T-junction.
The hijackers then fled with the vehicle.
