Driver hijacked and kidnapped on P111

A driver had a harrowing experience in our area last week.

The Carletonville police say the man was driving his company’s Isuzu bakkie to Kloof mine on the P111 when the incident took place at approximately 09:45 on 8 July.
Just after passing the Corobrik factory, the driver noticed a blue sedan of unknown make behind him.
The car moved next to him and suddenly pulled up in front of him, forcing him to stop. A second car also stopped behind him.
As the driver of the first car came up to him, the victim suddenly felt someone grabbing him from behind.
They forced him out of the bakkie and into the blue sedan. The hijackers then drove off with the victim and dropped him on the side of the road in Lawley near Lenasia.
The police are investigating hijacking and kidnapping charges following the incident.
