Mr Lukas Delport’s son, Julian (29), allegedly stabbed him at his home in Juliana Street on Saturday, 3 September.
The police were called to the scene at approximately 23:00. They found the 50-year-old victim with a stab wound in his neck.
The son, who is in his twenties, reportedly stabbed his father after an argument erupted between the two.
Delport was rushed to Leratong Hospital and was still in the intensive care unit when the newspaper went to print.
The son was immediately arrested and appeared in the Oberholzer Magistrate’s Court on 6 September.
He was not granted bail and is still in custody.
