Attackers strike havoc in Blyvooruitzicht

Violent attackers kill girlfriend (21).

The Carletonville police are investigating charges of murder, attempted murder and the kidnapping of two people following an incident in Blyvoor this week.

The crime happened on Wednesday, 14 February.

Residents of a house on 10th Avenue were asleep when a gang of six Sotho-speaking men broke down the door at about 01:00. The criminals, four of whom had firearms, including two rifles, stormed into the house and immediately demanded money.

They started ransacking the rooms and managed to lay their hands on some cash.

The criminals fired at some of the residents. They shot a 23-year-old man in his left eye and his girlfriend (21) in her shoulder and chest.

Although both were rushed to Carletonville Hospital, the woman died from her injuries in the hospital. The thugs also kidnapped two other residents of the home.

Luckily, the two men escaped from the veld between Blyvoor and Khutsong Ext. 5, where they were being held.

There has been a big increase in violent crimes in the town.
