Police arrest hijackers who struck just outside Carletonville

Four who hijacked man just outside Carletonville arrested in Mohlakeng.

A gang of hijackers came face to face with the long arm of the law last week.

A resident (39) was on his way to Blybank to buy groceries on 20 February. As he neared the four-way stop at the crossing of Agnew Road and the R501 at about 07:45, two white VW Polos drove up to him and pushed him off the road.

They pulled the motorist from his Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus and raced off with the vehicle. He reported the case to the police, and members of the Carletonville K9 Unit followed up information afterwards.

They found the hijacked vehicle in Mohlakeng near Randfontein and arrested the four alleged hijackers.
