Attackers shot an employee near an old mining hostel this week.

The incident took place at the 2 on Tuesday 11 June. The man was driving his vehicle at the old 2 Hostel near the former Western Deep Levels hospital at about 18:00.

Suddenly three men walked out of the veld and pulled out firearms. They fired shots at his vehicle, one of which hit him in the left leg.

He raced away to the Wedela police station to report the case, and was then taken to Fountain Private Hospital for treatment.

The case was then transferred to Carletonville as it happened in this police station’s precinct.
