Music lovers entertained during live session at Khutsong
The event was a fundraiser for a bigger tour to Mpumalanga.
Another conscious Friday took place on September 6 at the Shawela water tank in Khutsong’s Batswaneng Section.
The initiative was part of the local music tour that has been initiated by the Bantu Gang Band from Khutsong, who embarked on a fundraising journey building up towards a music festival later this month in Mpumalanga.
They were invited by Taylor Music Productions (a new events company) to provide live music in the area on the day in order to inspire the community of Batswaneng with a different sound that is culturally and spiritually uplifting. The company is aiming to change the perspective of the local audience in regards to supporting as well as embracing and empowering local talent.
Their intention includes fighting poverty, unemployment, crime and substance abuse as well as creating a local economy through art and tourism. The session was sponsored by New Kitchen, a local food business in the area that has transformed a once decapitated space into a something new and productive.
The local audience was mesmerised by the music and the community enjoyed the performances from the band and other passionate artists such as Doleza, Vibration Taylor, Kasi Kat, Gratitude and Sthendrick.
