Blyvoor man sentenced to life for double murder

He killed two innocent people.

A man from Blyvooruitzicht was sentenced in the Oberholzer Regional Court earlier this month.

Clement Mokotsjo (47) appeared in court in connection with two separate murder cases.
In one case he shot a resident at a tavern on July 27, 2019. During this incident he also shot a man in his hand and injured another.

The second case against him stemmed from another murder at Vahala Place in Blyvoor in April 2020. Mokotsjo appeared in front of Magistrate Jan Steyn on September 4.

He was found guilty of murder, attempted murder, assault and the possession of an unlicensed firearm in connection with the first case.

He received a sentence of 15 years imprisonment for the murder and five years each on each of the other charges.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment for the second murder.

Captain Jacques Nagel was the investigating officer while Ms Remo Phantshang was the prosecutor.
