Carletonville police investigate murder of pedestrian in Reinecke Street

The police in Carletonville are investigating a murder after a man was killed on the night of October 27.

The late Inacio Antonio Chanjane (46) was working as a hawker at the Carletonville Taxi Rank for less than a week. He arrived in town from Mozambique on October 21.

Chanjane and his girlfriend were walking home when they noticed a man following them.

The follower, however, started running and caught up with them next to 123 Reinecke Street.

The thug then pulled out a firearm and shot Chanjane several times.

Although his girlfriend called for help and an ambulance arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, Chanjane succumbed to his wounds.
