Special event against gender-based violence

The local minibus taxi industry will play a positive role in this event.

The organisation Woman of God Foundation in Kokosi will soon hold an unusual event to make everyone in this community more aware of gender-based violence.

The Safe Ride – Safe Lives awareness campaign will take place on November 29 as part of the annual 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence. According to the founder of Woman of God Foundation, Gladys Baloyi, it will be a collaboration between this organisation and the Greater Fochville Transport Association, which is the oldest taxi association in the Fochville area.

“Our aim is to raise awareness, engage taxi drivers and promote a safe and supportive environment for survivors and victims of gender-based violence,” says Baloyi.
The event will take place at the Fochville Taxi Rank and will start at 09:00.

Anyone who wants to join this action or needs more information, can contact the Woman of God Foundation at 079 507 2901 or 061 504 1599.
