Hijacked in Diamond Street

Motorists are urged to be vigilant as hijackings are more prevalent in the Carletonville area.

The police’s trio task team is on the lookout for a white Isuzu delivery van after a hijacking incident on November 15.

A 41-year-old resident of flats in Diamond Street near the Carletonville CBD parked his vehicle in the parking lot at approximately 19:00, when three unknown men approached him.

According to reports they enquired about places to rent. One of the men pulled out a firearm and demanded the keys to the victim’s vehicle.

They grabbed three cellphones and money before speeding off in the victim’s white Isuzu delivery van. The victim was not injured.
