Merafong residents may still recode their meters

Municipal offices also stayed open until late.

The Merafong City Local Municipality says that residents who have not yet done so, can still recode their prepaid electricity meters.

“Customers who have not yet recoded their prepaid electricity meters may still visit their nearest pay point and will be issued with the KRN tokens to recode their meters,” says the municipality’s Marketing and Communications Manager, Temba Fezani.

According to the municipality, they were able to assist residents who still needed to recode their metres over the weekend as they kept their pay points in Fochville, Carletonville, Khutsong South and at the Kokosi Clinic open on Saturday and Sunday.

“The staff at the pay points that experienced long queues worked into the late hours of the evening to ensure everyone in the queues were assisted,” Fezani added.
