DMRE investigating deaths at Blyvoor Gold Mine
Two workers died, 19 others were treated in hospital and another four were treated at the scene.

Two mine workers died and 19 others were rushed to hospital after a rockfall measuring 3.2 on the Richter Scale at Blyvoor Gold Mine on January 9.
The incident occurred after a seismic event at 09:38, while the injured workers had been working on level 27.
Emergency medical services were called to the scene. One of the injured mineworkers died as a result of his injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The other injured worker died in Fountain Private Hospital the same evening.
Four other workers sustained only minor injuries and did not need hospital treatment.
All production at the mine was halted and officials of the Department of Minerals and Energy Resources visited the mine on January 10.
They are conducting an investigation into the incident, which is still ongoing. SAPS are investigating an inquest case.
