Robbers strike on farm

Luckily no-one was injured.

A group of robbers struck at the farm Patiki between Carletonville and Magaliesburg on January 16.

While a security guard (25) patrolled the farm at approximately 04:00 he came across an unknown bakkie with four men inside.

The thugs, who spoke isiZulu and Setswana, overpowered him and tied his hands with barbed wire before they pulled him into a garage. They demanded to talk to the farm owner. They also enquired about any firearms on the farm.

When they realised the guard could not give them the answers they wanted, the thugs broke into the home on the farm. They grabbed a gas stove and electrical equipment and loaded it onto a trailer found at the property.

The thugs then sped off.

The guard was not seriously injured. The police are investigating a business robbery.
