Carletonville swimmer ends season on a high note
This was the last swim of the season.

A member of the Carletonville Swimming Club excelled in the last open water swim of the season.
Carla Louw participated in the GoSport Open Water Swimming Competition held at Prime View Adventure & Leisure in Midrand on March 2.
Louw completed the 1 000m swim in a time of 24:44, finishing 22nd out of 61 swimmers.
She came first in her age category. Louw scooped up another first in her age category in the 500m swim, with a time of 12:06.
She also completed the 3 000m swim in a time of 01:10:55, and came ninth out of 18 swimmers.
The GoSport competition was the perfect event to finish the swimming season.
“The 3km race was the toughest as I hadn’t swum that distance in quite some time and could feel the strain at the 2km mark, but managed to pull through with enough perseverance and mind over matter. I want to thank Coach Winfrey Nambuya from Elites Swimming Club for all of her hard work in training me for what has been a successful 2024/2025 swimming season,” the local star said.
