‘Game Changers’ film wraps up production in Khutsong and Carletonville

The film highlights local creatives and will feature in the upcoming Merafong Film Festival.

The highly anticipated local film Game Changers has officially completed post-production after filming in Khutsong and Carletonville. Directed by renowned local filmmaker Mahavatar, the film will have its first exclusive screening on May 31, reserved for the cast, crew, and production team.

Although the film is still in its final stages—with additional scenes planned for inclusion—excitement is growing among those involved. Game Changers explores the vibrant world of local creative talent and the thriving entertainment scene in Merafong.

Mahavatar confirmed that more screenings of recent local films are planned in the near future. These will culminate in the inaugural Merafong Film Festival, where Game Changers and other regional film projects will be showcased to the public for the first time.

This milestone marks a significant step forward for the Merafong arts and culture community, giving local filmmakers and performers a platform to shine.
