Members of the Carletonville SAPS have arrested a woman from Khutsong Extension 5 in connection with the alleged murder of her boyfriend, following a violent domestic altercation on the night of May 25, 2025.

The 43-year-old male victim was rushed to Carletonville Hospital with serious stab wounds to the neck and face. Despite medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries the following morning.

Preliminary police investigations revealed that the fatal wounds were allegedly inflicted with a broken bottle, during a fight between the man and his girlfriend. The woman was taken into custody shortly after the incident.

“The suspect is expected to appear in court soon on a charge of murder,” said a spokesperson from Carletonville SAPS.

The incident has sparked renewed concern around domestic violence and gender-based violence in the community. Police have urged anyone experiencing domestic conflict to seek help from local support services before it escalates.

The investigation is ongoing.
