Daughter kidnapped in Khutsong house invasion

The kidnappers later phoned the mother for ransom.

A family from the 80s in Khutsong Extension 5 had a harrowing start to their week.

The family, a mother (48) and daughter (21) was in their home at approximately 02:00 on Monday, June 23.

They were woken up by a loud noise in their kitchen and realised that thugs were breaking open the door. As two armed thugs rushed into the house, the daughter ran to her mother’s room.

The frightened mother and daughter locked themselves inside, but the thugs kicked down the door.

The robbers, who spoke Sesotho, continued to ask for money and said that they knew that the mother made a business from lending out cash at a profit. When the mother replied that she did not have money, the criminals grabbed the daughter and kidnapped her.

They later phoned the mother for a ransom.

By printing time, the daughter had still not been returned.
