Armed robbers target Kokosi tuckshop in early morning heist

Three armed suspects stormed the shop, stealing cash, cigarettes, and hubbly flavours.

Kokosi, Fochville – A violent armed robbery took place at Nthabeleng Tuckshop in Moono Street, Extension 1, on Tuesday, July 1, marking the third such crime in the Fochville area this week.

At approximately 02:00, the 24-year-old owner was asleep in the back of his shop when three men broke through the back door. One of the robbers wore a mask, and all were reportedly armed with firearms. The attackers forced the owner at gunpoint to lie face down while they looted the business. They made off with cash, cigarettes, and hubbly flavours.

After the incident, the owner discovered that the suspects had cut through the fence surrounding the property and used a cement pole to break open the back door.

This robbery follows a concerning trend, with three business robberies reported in the Fochville area this week alone. Police are urging local business owners to stay extra cautious and report any suspicious activity.
