Armed robbery at Club Zero shocks staff and patrons in Carletonville CBD

Police are investigating the business robbery and urge the public to come forward with any information.

Employees and patrons of Club Zero, located on Amethyst Street in the Carletonville CBD, were left traumatised after a terrifying armed robbery took place on the evening of Monday, June 24.

According to police, three armed suspects stormed the premises at approximately 19:50, targeting a 46-year-old staff member and several customers. The robbers demanded valuables at gunpoint, making off with cellphones, alcohol, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Witnesses reported that two of the suspects communicated in Sesotho, while the third – described as a coloured man – spoke English. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Carletonville detectives have opened a case of business robbery, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist in identifying or locating the suspects to contact their nearest police station.

The incident adds to growing concerns about rising crime in Carletonville’s CBD, where business owners say they are increasingly vulnerable to armed attacks.
