Fochville police arrest alleged murderer of Greenspark resident

The suspect is expected to appear in court on murder charges.

Fochville police have arrested the alleged murderer of a Greenspark resident shortly after the incident occurred this week.

According to a reliable source, the victim, Mthandeki Mlandeli, and another man got into a fight on Fisant Street at around 09:15 on 31 August. Both were reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time.

During the altercation, the 26-year-old suspect, identified as a crime warden, allegedly pulled out an Okapi knife and stabbed Mlandeli.

Bystanders rushed the wounded man to the Fochville ambulance service, but tragically, he was declared dead upon arrival.

Police later arrested the suspect at his home the same day. He is expected to appear in court soon on a charge of murder.

Mlandeli, who lived on Pelican Street in Greenspark, would have celebrated his 39th birthday on 15 September.
