The police in Carletonville are investigating a murder case following an incident in town over the weekend.

According to a source, a 35-year-old man was taken to Carletonville Hospital on October 4. Bystanders took him to the hospital at 23:55.

The man had multiple stab wounds and later died of his injuries in the hospital.

Police later discovered that he had allegedly been involved in a fight at Marcellos Tavern in Emerald Street.

He was stabbed when this altercation grew more heated.
