Khutsong pre-school celebrates heritage in style with colourful cultural festivities

The young one's enjoyed the educational activities.

Thakaneng Pre-School, based in Extension 1 of Khutsong Township, has had an eventful year filled with positive and engaging activities for its young learners. Earlier this year, the school hosted a walk to advocate for children’s rights and a fun-filled movie day.

Most recently, the pre-school celebrated Heritage Day in style. The event encouraged children to embrace and take pride in their cultural identities. Learners came dressed in traditional clothing representing their diverse backgrounds, filling the school grounds with colour and excitement.

The celebration featured cultural performances, including singing, dancing, and storytelling, as well as a delicious spread of traditional foods prepared by parents and teachers.

Events like these not only help children learn about their heritage but also strengthen community bonds and promote unity in diversity.
