Employee hijacked on P111 road between Carletonville and Westonaria

The attackers used two vehicles to block his path at the R559 T-junction before forcing him into their car at gunpoint.

An employee was hijacked while driving through our area this week. The incident took place on October 31.

The employee (51) was driving his employer’s white Nissan NP200 toward Westonaria on the P111 road at approximately 09:00. At the T-junction of the R559 road to Randfontein, an unknown blue vehicle suddenly turned in front of him and stopped.

When the employee brought his bakkie to a standstill, another vehicle stopped behind him.

Two men stormed up to the driver and pointed their firearms at him.

They forced him into their vehicle and drove with him to Mountain View at Westonaria, where he was loaded into another vehicle.

They then dropped him off near Randfontein, and he managed to get a lift to the Mohlakeng police station to report the crime.
