Business robbers continue to be a problem in the Carletonville area.

The latest incident took place just after midnight on November 2.

A staff member (22) was busy in the kitchen of Capello’s Tavern in Khutsong Ext 5 at approximately 00:45. He suddenly heard gunshots, after which his female colleague ran into the kitchen.

She told him that three masked men had stormed in.

The employees locked themselves in the kitchen and, luckily for them, the robbers could not get in.

When the employees had not heard anything outside for some time, they unlocked the door and went to check. They found that the robbers had stolen money and bottles of liquor. Police are investigating the incident. At the time of publication no arrests have been made.
