Remember to store water for tomorrow
Residents of Merafong can also suffer water shortages due to Eskom and Rand Water maintenance tomorrow (Sunday 21 January).

According Rand Water’s media spokesperson, Mr Justice Mohale, Eskom will do maintenance work on the transformers that supply power to Rand Water’s Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant tomorrow (Sunday 21 January).
The maintenance work is expected to last from 08:00 to 15:00.
“During this period, pumping capacity may be reduced at Eikenhof, Palmiet and Mapleton Systems. As a result, some areas may experience low pressure due to no water supply,” says Mohale.
He confirmed that the Merafong City Local Municipality is one of the areas that may be affected.
Rand Water also indicated that they had notified the municipality 21 days in advance so that they could inform residents. It is unsure why Merafong did not spread the message.
Rand Water will also undertake their own maintenance work on the Q2 pipeline that supplies water to the Eikenhof System during the same time.
Although it is not sure to what extent Merafong will be affected, if at all, residents can spare themselves extra issues if they would store some water in case our water supply is down.
