House robbers attack family

Luckily no one was harmed.

House robbers were active in the Carletonville area again this week.

A house robbery happened in the “60s” of Khutsong Extension 5 on Thursday, 29 February.

The 33-year-old owner of the house was asleep with his family when three unknown men burst into the house at about 01:30. All wore balaclavas and carried firearms.

The Sotho-speaking thugs showed the family their firearms. The homeowner grabbed his wife and child, ran to a bedroom and locked themselves inside.

However, the robbers shot at the door and broke it open.

“We want your money,” they demanded.

When the resident said he did not have any, the robbers grabbed a television, a gas stove and a cylinder and ran away.
