The Carletonville police are investigating an attempted murder after robbers shot a security guard in the area on 17 May.
The security officer (35) was on duty at Technicrete on Welverdiend’s main street around 20:30 when he and his colleagues noticed a group of Sotho-speaking men at the fence.
Suddenly and without warning, the thugs started shooting at the guards. Fleeing for safety, the victim felt something wet on his trousers.
When he looked down, he realised someone had shot him in the buttocks. The guards called the police, and an ambulance transported the victim to Carletonville Hospital.
