A resident of Blyvooruitzicht had a harrowing experience this week.

The victim (29) was already in bed in 42th Avenue when he heard a noise outside his room at approximately 23:30 on 3 July.

He went to investigate and walked into two masked men.

“Be quiet, we are not here for you,” one of the thugs snarled.

The victim and the thugs then started to fight each other. During the course of the struggle the victim was hit over his head with a firearm.

One of the attacked also fired a shot at his, but luckily it missed him and hit the wall.

The criminals then ran away.

The police are investigating an attempted murder case following the incident.
