Bakkie hijacked on N12

Be on the lookout for hijackers as they are still active in our area.

A driver passing through our area had a harrowing experience last week.

The man, an employee of a business from Centurion, was returning to his employer
from Kimberley via the N12 on August 30.

As he drove past the Bank turn-off at about 18:40 a white BMW with four men inside drove in front of him and slammed on its brakes.

This forced the driver to stop.

One of the men inside the BMW fired a shot into the air after three of them jumped out.

They forced their way into the Mahindra bakkie that the victim was driving and started to assault him with a firearm and a stone.

The hijackers all seemed to be Zimbabweans speaking Tsonga.

Their accomplice drove off in the BMW and the hijackers took off with the employee in the Mahindra. They drove with him for some time and took his clothes and cellphone before dropping him off on the side of the road in the Carletonville area.

They fled with his bakkie.
