Two suspects arrested with stolen bank cards in Fochville
The police are now looking for other local victims.
The police in Fochville arrested two wanted criminals this week, and are now looking for more information that can bind them to other cases.
According to reports, detectives received information that a Mercedes-Benz, linked to other crimes, stopped in the parking lot of President Hyper on October 29.
They rushed to the scene and found two men from Pretoria in the car.
Although the men said that they were there to sell vegetables, a variety of stolen bank cards were found in their possession.
More suspicion was raised by a bullet hole on the side of the suspects’ vehicle.
As luck would have it a member of the Meyerton CPF (Community Policing Forum) was at President Hyper shopping at the time of the arrest; he told police that the two men were the same suspects who had robbed a shop in Meyerton recently.
Their car was shot at during this robbery. The two suspects, aged 53 and 37 respectively, were arrested at the scene. Authorities suspect the men may have been involved in other crimes in the area where people were possibly drugged and robbed of their bank cards and money.
