Motorist hijacked at gunpoint at Carletonville crossing

Luckily the driver was not injured.

Hijackers continue to strike close to Carletonville as another hijacking incident took place on November 24.

A resident was driving his gold-coloured Toyota Tazz toward the big four-way stop at the crossing of the R500 and R501 next to the 007 shopping complex at approximately 17:15.

Suddenly an African man walked into the road in front of him.

The thug pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the driver.

Two other men also stormed his car. One had a firearm while the other was armed with a knife.

All three thugs jumped into the vehicle with the driver and forced him to drive close to Fountain Private Hospital.

They stopped, tied him up, and left him in the veld while they drove his vehicle back toward Carletonville.

Luckily the driver managed to untie himself and went to the Carletonville Police Station to report the incident.

The police are investigating cases of hijacking and kidnapping.
