Public meeting in Fochville about gold prospecting plans

The public meeting will be next week.

A mining company unknown to our area wants to consult with the community about its plans.

According to a ward councillor from Fochville, Blackie Zwart, the company Jaments Pty Ltd from eMalahleni (formerly known as Witbank) will be holding a public meeting on Tuesday, December 3 to discuss its plans to do prospecting in our area.

This company plans to prospect for gold on Portion 7 of the farm Leeupoort, next to the N12 on the way from Fochville to Westonaria.

The public meeting will take place at the Fochville Civic Centre and will start at 14:00.

“Many people, especially farmers who might be affected by such prospecting or future mining, do not know about this and must make sure that they attend the meeting to learn more,” says Zwart.
