Round Table Chairman visits Botswana

This local leader is keeping Carletonville and our area's name high.

A Carletonville resident who are the regional Round Table chairman visited Botswana as part of this organisation’s activities in November.

Riaan Greyling, is the area chairman of the Round Table’s STNOFS area, which comprises of Carletonville, Stilfontein, Potchefstroom, Klerksdorp and Vereeniging.

From November 22 to 24, I, Greyling, attended the Round Table Botswana Half-Year Meeting in Gaborone, in this official capacity alongside the AMI Regional Chairman, Louis Radley.

“The event was an incredible experience filled with camaraderie, insights, and memorable moments that will resonate with us for a long time. Our time in Gaborone was enriched by the warm hospitality we received. We were home-hosted, which gave us the chance to connect on a personal level with our gracious hosts. The food throughout the weekend was delicious, and the welcoming atmosphere added a special touch to our stay,” says Greyling.

He adds that the Half-Year Meeting itself was highly insightful.

“It was inspiring to witness firsthand the impactful work being carried out by the Round Table Botswana team. The discussions and shared updates reflected the energy and commitment that define the spirit of Round Table. Beyond the formalities, the fellowship was simply fantastic. Friday night kicked off with a lively gathering at a lounge, setting the tone for the weekend ahead. Saturday was dedicated to the meeting, followed by a delightful lunch at the venue. Saturday night, however, stood out as we joined the team at their clubhouse—fondly referred to as “The Shack.” Steeped in history and brimming with character, it was the perfect backdrop for an evening of fellowship. The Ladies Circle also joined us that night, adding to the joyous atmosphere and creating a sense of unity across all members present,” says Greyling.

“This visit was a powerful reminder of the shared values and purpose that bring us together as Tablers. It was a privilege to connect with like-minded individuals, exchange ideas, and celebrate the successes of the Round Table Botswana community. Thank you to everyone who made this weekend unforgettable. Your hospitality, friendship, and dedication to the cause are truly appreciated. I look forward to future collaborations and continued growth within our global Round Table family,” he added.
