Driver hijacked on P111 between Carletonville and Westonaria

These attackers are armed and dangerous.

Another driver was hijacked on the P111 between Carletonville and the N12 toward Westonaria this week.

This crime took place on March 6.

The driver from a business in Westonaria was driving his employer’s Nissan NP300 bakkie toward Carletonville at approximately 19:00.

He was driving past the turnoff to East Driefontein when he became aware that there was something wrong with his vehicle.

He thought it might have a flat tyre and pulled to the side of the road.

He just got to a standstill when four unknown men stormed him. The four men, who spoke Shona and isiZulu, pulled out firearms and forced the driver into their vehicle.

They drove off with him and dropped him off in a veld near Randfontein.

The police in Carletonville are investigating hijacking and kidnapping charges.
