Armed robbery at business in Khutsong Ext 5

The robbers walked in at night.

A tavern in the 80s of Khutsong Ext 5 became the scene of a business robbery on March 11.

A staff member (22) and customers were inside Tapelo’s Tavern at approximately 23:00. Six unknown men, pretending to be customers, walked in when two of them pulled out firearms and pointed them at the staff and customers.

The employee, however, outwitted the robbers by locking himself in a restricted area with the cash register.

The robbers, who spoke Sesotho and isiXhosa, robbed the customers of their cellphones before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.
