Thugs hijacked a minibus in the Blybank area this week.
The incident took place on April 14. At approximately 08:30, the victim drove his Toyota Quantum slowly to dodge potholes on the road to Blybank past East Driefontein’s 7 Shaft.
Suddenly, a black Nissan, which had been driving in the opposite direction, turned in front of him to block his way. Two men jumped out and pointed firearms at the taxi driver.
They blindfolded him and drove him somewhere in Lenasia. The victim could hear the hijackers struggling to locate his minibus’s satellite tracking system.
Once they found it and presumably took it out, the hijackers called an accomplice to tell him that he could come and get the vehicle.
They dropped the driver off in a veld, but he managed to get a lift back to Carletonville to report the case to the police.
Detectives are now investigating hijacking and kidnapping cases.
