New Fochville station commander with bold crime-fighting vision
This police station serves the Fochville, Kokosi and Greenspark area as well as surrounding rural areas.
The Fochville Police Station has a new station commander who is luckily no newcomer to our area.
Lieutenant-Colonel Levy Molepo took over this seat, which puts him at the head of policing activities in the Fochville, Kokosi, and Greenspark area, in March.
The Fochville policing precinct goes as far as Mpahla Village near East Driefontein. Molepo, who grew up in the West Rand, was previously the station commander at Mohlakeng near Randfontein.
Before that, however, he was the station commander of the Wedela Police Station.
“My aim is to reduce crime and to ensure that the community has access to the Fochville Police Station,” says Molepo.
He adds that since his arrival, hijackings on the N12 have already started to decrease, thanks to an increased engagement with the community.
The new station commander, who describes himself as “easily accessible and easy going”, invites residents of the Fochville area to get more involved in the fight against crime by joining the community policing forum (CPF) and neighbourhood watch in their area.
Under his watch, the charge office of the Fochville Police Station was also revamped this week, while painting was also done elsewhere in the facility.
Members of the community who want to reach out to the police can contact Molepo at 071 675 7205/7208.
