Special gathering on Worker’s Day

Many people attended the event.

Christians from various denominations in Carletonville gathered at Hoërskool Carletonville on the Workers’ Day public holiday.

According to the organiser, Shaleen Smith, the event was a follow-up to the march held on Workers’ Day last year.

Another event was also held in the park in front of the Carletonville Library just before Christmas.

“We as pastors meet every second Tuesday of each month and try to bring harmony, compassion, and solidarity among all members of our society, irrespective of differences,” says Smith.

She added that another event was held to pray for a Carletonville teenager with brain cancer, who was found to be in remission after the event.

Because of this, those who prayed also wanted to give thanks.

Various local Christian singers also took part while members of the Carletonville CPF helped to maintain order at the gate.
