Carletonville must brace for cold snap as temperatures will drop significantly from Wednesday

The South African Weather Service predicts a cold front bringing lows as chilly as 3°C and daytime highs below 20°C.

Residents of Carletonville and surrounding areas are advised to prepare for a sharp drop in temperatures starting Wednesday, 21 May, as a cold front moves through the region.

According to the South African National Weather Service (SAWS), the maximum temperature in Carletonville will only reach 15°C on Wednesday, with a biting minimum of just C.

The cold conditions are expected to persist into Thursday, with a slightly warmer maximum of 18°C, but the minimum will drop to a chilly C, making it one of the coldest mornings of the season so far.

From Friday through Monday, temperatures will stabilize slightly. Daily highs are forecast at 19°C, while morning lows will gradually climb from C to C over the weekend.
