Authorities and Fountain Private Hospital seek information after serious hit-and-run incident

Authorities and Fountain Private Hospital are appealing to the public for information following a serious accident involving one of the hospital’s staff members.

The incident occurred on Friday, May 31, shortly before 19:00, at the traffic lights near Carleton Jones Drive. A light blue vehicle collided with a patient transport vehicle belonging to Fountain Private Hospital.

According to Carla de Bouchet of Fountain Private Hospital, the driver of the patient transport vehicle sustained serious injuries from the impact and is currently being treated in the hospital’s high care unit.

Shockingly, the driver of the light blue vehicle fled the scene without offering assistance. The police have opened a criminal investigation into the hit-and-run.

Fountain Private Hospital urges anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who can provide information about the light blue vehicle involved to come forward. Tips can be shared anonymously by contacting the hospital at (018) 788 1117 or (018) 788 1000.
