A 25-year-old male suspect has been arrested in connection with a violent robbery and rape that occurred in Kokosi, Fochville, during the early hours of Sunday, June 8. The incident has shocked the community and sparked a manhunt for a second suspect who remains at large.

Couple ambushed near Nkana’s tavern

According to a reliable source, a 29-year-old local man and his 22-year-old female friend were sitting inside a blue Toyota Tazz parked in an open field near Nkana’s Tavern in Kokosi when two unknown suspects opened the vehicle’s doors and threatened them with knives at approximately 00:15.

The suspects stole the man’s Samsung cellphone, wallet containing cash, and two cans of beer belonging to the woman.

Victims forced into back seat of car

The armed suspects then forced the pair into the back seat of the Toyota Tazz and drove off with them. During the drive, the male victim managed to escape and fled to a nearby tavern for help, narrowly avoiding a second attack as one of the suspects chased him with a knife.
