The nomination period for the Best of Merafong Awards 2025 closes on Tuesday, 1 July, and residents of Carletonville, Fochville, and surrounding towns have less than a week left to cast their votes.

Hosted by the Carletonville and Fochville Herald, these popular awards celebrate the top local businesses — from restaurants and hair salons to mechanics, shops, and service providers of all kinds. What makes the awards special is that winners are nominated and chosen by the community itself.

“The 2024 awards saw incredible participation, and it was heartwarming to see how residents supported their favourite local businesses,” said a spokesperson for the Herald. “We want 2025 to be even bigger — and it all starts with your nomination.”
