Excitement builds for 2025 Best of Merafong Awards as hundreds of local businesses nominated

Residents can vote for their favourites starting August 21.

The Carletonville and Fochville Herald’s 2025 Best of Merafong Awards is generating major excitement as nearly 300 local businesses have been nominated for delivering excellent service to the community.

Now in its second year, the Best of Merafong Awards aims to honour and spotlight outstanding businesses in Carletonville, Fochville, and surrounding areas. The initiative allows residents to show appreciation for the service providers that go the extra mile in their daily work.

“The community has once again shown strong support for this initiative by nominating hundreds of deserving businesses,” said the Herald team. “These awards are about recognising local excellence and encouraging pride in the Merafong business community.”

A full list of the nominated businesses will be published in the Herald’s August 21 edition. Voting will open that same day and continue for two weeks, giving residents the chance to vote for their favourites in categories ranging from retail and hospitality to health, beauty, and professional services.

The awards not only celebrate business excellence but also provide a platform for residents to support local entrepreneurs and service providers.
