Books and Bakes Fair brings joy to Fochville Retirement Village

It featured book sales, baked goods, and a book character dress-up competition.

The SAVF Fochville Retirement Village held its lively Books and Bakes Fair on June 28, drawing residents, families, and community members for a morning of fun and fundraising.

The event featured a second-hand book sale, with donations from residents and locals. Guests of all ages browsed the selection, with many finding literary treasures to take home. A highlight of the day was the Best Book Character Outfit competition, where attendees dressed as beloved characters and won prizes.

A delicious array of baked goods, including pancakes, muffins, cakes, and scones, delighted visitors. Local favourite Pandora’s Box Coffee Shop also contributed by providing cakes, scones, and freshly brewed coffee.

“A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed books, lent a helping hand, and supported the event in any way,” said facility manager Lynette Eybers.

The morning was filled with laughter, stories, and community spirit, making it a memorable and successful fundraising event for the retirement village.
