Khutsong Ward 10 by-election set for November 26 following councillor’s death
A voter registration weekend took place on October 4 and 5 to prepare for the election.
The IEC has announced the date for the by-election in Khutsong next month.
The by-election will be held on November 26 in Ward 10 of Khutsong following the passing of ANC ward councillor Thabo Raymond Masiu.
Masiu passed away on September 3 after a period of illness. He died at Carletonville Hospital and was laid to rest in Khutsong on September 13.
His death has triggered the constitutional requirement for a by-election to fill the vacant council seat.
The municipality confirmed last week that a registration weekend was already held on October 4 and 5.
