Motorist hijacked on R500 near De Pan between Carletonville and N14

Armed suspects in two vehicles ambushed the driver and fled with his employer’s Toyota Hilux bakkie.

A motorist was hijacked on the R500 road at De Pan between Carletonville and the N14 this week.

This crime occurred on Friday, October 24.

The victim, a 40-year-old employee of a business in Rustenburg, was driving toward Carletonville at approximately 11:00.

A light blue sedan suddenly stopped in front of him while another vehicle stopped at the back.

Three men jumped from the vehicles and pointed firearms at the driver.

The thugs, who spoke Setswana, forced the driver into one of their vehicles and released him at Blybank. The driver managed to get help and went to the Carletonville police station to report the incident.

They fled with his employer’s white Toyota Hilux bakkie.
